Working Notes

A fire clay body with the addition of fine sand makes this clay both strong and versatile, allowing it to be used for Raku as well as for hand building, throwing and sculpting.

Fires to a warm buff at bisque turning slightly darker at glaze temperatures. In Raku, all unglazed clay will turn black.

Health & Safety

As the clay contains crystalline silica avoid inhaling the dust from dried out clay. Wear a P3 mask, wash hands after use and clean up using a damp sponge. Dust off dirty clothes and aprons outside.
