This is an ergonomic plastic tool which when pushed into a centred ball of clay and then pulled outward from the centre will create a flat base of a thickness of 9.5mm (3/8ths). Therefore, it will help two parts of the throwing process, creating a perfect, even bottom with a straight side to the desired width. It’s then ready for you to begin the ‘pulling up’ of the side of pot.
Can be used for mugs, bowls and cylinders. When the tool is inverted, it can be used to create plates with a flat surface. Watch the video below for a demonstration.
