Kiln Element Support Pins - Pack of 5

Measuring 40mm in length and having a span from 6mm to 10mm (bendable), these sturdy pins are designed to support unruly elements that might have come out from their grooves.

Pins are also referred to as wedges, hoops, U rings, or jump wires.

Method

Simply using a pin hammer, tap gently into fresh holes either side of an element wire.

The wire is made of the same material as kiln elements so this product can tolerate high temperatures of up to 1400°C. Other uses - support hooks for wares which need to be hanging in a firing.

Hot Clay Tip: Always preheat the element with a blow torch or heat gun before moving or pinning, cold elements can break if disturbed.
