Nabertherm Top 60 Pottery Kiln

When I purchased this kiln over a year ago I was unsure whether to go for the 45l or the 60l and the man at Hot Clay guided me through the options and I opted for the 60l. I am so glad I did! Less firings and more in it. It has been a trial and error to work out programmes but the kiln is incredible. It is big and heavy as you would expect but couldn't be happier. Thank you Hot Clay!

I was umming and arrring about which kiln to get whether to get a 45 or a 60 and talked to the lovely chap on the phone and he helped me decide on getting the 60l because in my eyes would last me as I grew. It came amazingly packaged and it was literally plug in and go. I love my kiln so much, the wheels make her super easy to move. She is a big girl so does take 2 to move her. The programmer and app is super simple to use and you can just tell they are built to last. Very very happy with my purchase. If you are thinking about the 45 or the 60l I would go 60!

Absolutely thrilled with this kiln. I’m an enthusiastic learner & it is easy to use, instructions clear, with the pre-programmed settings, easy. I haven’t ventured into making other programs for it yet, but will do as my confidence grows. I love it. Biscuit & glaze firings done without any explosions. Delivery was as it should be.

Bref, ce n'est que du bonheur, depuis la livraison jusqu'aux resultats de mes cuissons. I have been using this oven for over a year and am delighted with it! Its use is very simple for the novice that I am, and little by little I will look at all the possibilities offered by this oven. In short, it's only happiness, from the delivery to the results of my cooking.

The kiln was delivered in 3 weeks in November 2020 and was well packed. It was not to heavy to manipulate between two and easy to install. Instructions are very detailed and the controller easy to use. Capacity is great and the kiln is very compacted. I can easily fire up to 4 shelves of mugs and bowls. It is very energy efficient and well insulated. Each firing costs less than £2.5. The rooms doesn' get hot and the kiln doesn' radiate too much heat. The downside is that it takes a full day to cool down. I found the programmer easy to use. The possibility to download the firings on the USB thumb drive is great. You don' need any specific programme, just open the csv file with Excel. I was able to upload the new programmes by changing the XML code. It's very easy. Just don' forget a last line of instruction END! Two small issues. The legs with casters are not very strong so you need to move the kiln gently. The soldering of exhaust pipe to its support is very weak and broke. Nabertherm was prompted to send a replacement part but it broke again due to the flexible pulling on it. I had to make a DIY fix. I highly recommend this kiln. If you want to fire crystalline or complex firing glazes I recommend you upgrade to the next level controller as the basic one as only 4 steps.
