Ideal for a mass turning session

I tend to throw tall small necked items mainly and this is not good for these pots. I still use a bisque chuck. However, it is ideal for turning the bottoms of wide necked pots, mugs etc. Still don't regret buying it.

So helpful

I’ve bought several items from hot clay and they’ve never disappointed. The Giffin Grip is brilliant. Costly, but well worth it!

Trimming heaven!

I've been trimming the old school way since I first started doing pottery a year ago and I didn't have a problem centering my pieces on the wheel, just took me a little bit longer than with this magnificent piece of equipment that makes my life easier, it takes seconds to get my pots centered, even the ones with narrow and fragile necks or the wobbly ones.
I know it is pricey but surely a pretty good investment in the long run!

Superb tool, well worth the high cost

This is a superb piece of kit. The design is brilliant, ensuring accurate centering with the minimum of fuss. I'm relatively new to pottery, and centering for trimming has been a source of frustration for me. The Giffin Grip solves the problem elegantly. Even really difficult tasks, like turning foot rings on tall, narrow vases become simple.

Of course, there still are items, such as lids, that may need another approach, but I use this for just about everything I trim.

An expensive tool, but definitely worth it!

When I was asked to produce a sake set, I knew I would struggle with turning the bottle - with the Giffin grip to help, this was a breeze. Any shape or size securely centred and firmly held - brilliant! Sake cups were slightly too small for the smallest grip, but the improvised addition of small felt pads fixed that. I can't imagine turning pots without it now!
