Also known as Kiln Wash or Shelf Primer.
How to apply:
Mix same weight in water to the powder, apply to your kiln shelf with a Haik Brush, let dry then add a second coat with the brush strokes at right angles to the first coat. Use only on the upper most side of the shelf.
It is advisable to put your shelf through a dry firing (a bisque will do) before taking it to glaze temperatures.
This batt wash will last for several firings or until there is a glaze accident, and areas can be touched up without re-washing the entire shelf if needed.

Batt Wash contains <1% crystalline silica which when inhaled may cause long term lung damage, therefore we recommend wearing a P3 Mask and working in a well ventilated area. Keep working areas free of dust by cleaning up with a damp sponge.
In keeping with our overall general advice, we suggest wearing full PPE when handling raw materials. This includes a mask, safety
glasses, and gloves.
It is a sensible precaution for children not to work with raw materials.

No problems with this - did the trick…
Applied two coats of product to kiln base and shelving and was absolutely amazed at result, no problem with any glazing sticking to shelving.
Supplied in powder form it was very easy to add water and mix to smooth consistency. Very simple to apply to batts and the batt wash covers well.
Easy to mix and brush on the shelves. So far so good.
It's quite easy to mix this (but use an adequate mask) and apply it. I haven't had the occasion to dribble glaze all over it yet.
