This is a potassium-based feldspar which we call an alkaline flux. This will enable a glaze to melt.

Potash feldspar contains crystalline silica which when inhaled may cause long term lung damage, therefore we recommend wearing a P3 Mask and working in a well ventilated area. Keep working areas free of dust by cleaning up with a damp sponge.
In keeping with our overall general advice, we suggest wearing full PPE when handling raw materials. This includes a mask, safety
glasses, and gloves.
It is a sensible precaution for children not to work with raw materials.
