Product Information

Pigmented with a stain or an oxide, and made for either earthenware or stoneware temperatures. The crayons draw lines of the colours described with the exception of the oxide variants, which will make dark blue/black for cobalt oxide, dark brown/black for manganese dioxide, rusty red for iron oxide and green for copper oxide.

Note, colours can be affected by the clay body.

Firing Range

On a bisque fired ceramic surface ideally a little rough, you fill the gap between the drawn lines with a glaze or other colouring methods such as engobes. The wax will act as a resist and burn away leaving the coloured line.

Earthenware: 1050°C to 1150°C.

Stoneware: 1150°C to 1300°C.

See product attachments for more detailed information.

Health & Safety

Although the oxides are stable inside the wax base of the crayon, we would advise children not to use them. We would also suggest washing hands after use.
