Working Notes

Workable into shapes and slabs, but with a soft plastic feel. It rolls between the fingers for a prolonged time without cracking.

It’s a perfect clay alternative to Ashraf Hanna for uses such as Raku, and large sculptural pieces.

Its fired colour is bleached white even at the higher end of its firing window.

Health & Safety

As the clay contains crystalline silica avoid inhaling the dust from dried out clay. Wear a P3 mask, wash hands after use and clean up using a damp sponge. Dust off dirty clothes and aprons outside.

This clay!

Love the handling of this clay for both slab work and coils. Haven’t fired any of the pieces yet but so far for hand building this is now my favourite clay.

I can't get a glaze fit.

I've tried glazing this at 1080, 1100 and 1250. All previously bisqued at 1000. Struggling to get a glaze fit. Everything has crazed. A shame because it's amazing for handbuilding

Great hand building clay

Works very well for Raku, nice white body, behaves well.

Good workable clay

Has a nice feel and texture, only used if for a few small handbuilt items at the moment but bisque-fires a clear white.

Great for raku!

Good for handbuilding but can throw with this clay as well. Had a nice result from raku firing.
