Hyplas 71 is a brand of ball clay commonly used as the basis for decorating slips. Can also be used as an addition in a plastic clay body or casting bodies.

Ball Clays contain crystalline silica which when inhaled may cause long term lung damage, therefore we recommend wearing a P3 Mask and working in a well ventilated area. Keep working areas free of dust by cleaning up with a damp sponge.
In keeping with our overall general advice, we suggest wearing full PPE when handling raw materials. This includes a mask, safety
glasses, and gloves.
It is a sensible precaution for children not to work with raw materials.
