The Sea Shades Sample Set includes:

Firing Range

Apply to unfired clay and bisque, both Earthenware and Stoneware, in oxidation and reduction. It matures at 981°C (Cone 06) but can be fired up to 1305°C (Cone 10). These glazes will give your work a glossy finish without the need to apply a clear glaze over the top.

Applying a brush-on glaze

Remove glaze from the pot, stir and agitate the glaze in a larger container, make sure all the material is mixed thoroughly. Whilst keeping the glaze moving, dip your brush and hold it sideways to keep the material evenly distributed. Apply using confident dabs, move the liquid around and work quickly and smoothly. 2 to 3 applications could be needed so allow to dry between coverings.

Superb set

Love these beautiful colours. They are vibrant and strong- even with one coat. Have used them on green ware and bisque fired stoneware and they look good on both surfaces. They are a tad expensive but worth it. At the moment they seem to be lasting well and can be diluted to give a more subtle tone.

Fantastic sample set

This set of colours compliment each other well and provide great opaque colours with several coats. Perfect way to establish which sharks you want to invest in larger sizes.

Perfect for schools

I have been so impressed by these samples. I bought them for my art club at school and everything we have used them for has fired beautifully. Even when the children have painted the glaze on really thickly or with layered colours, the results are glossy and vibrant.

I also love how the glaze dries without becoming 'powdery' to the touch. One dry you can handle them without leaving fingerprints in the glaze etc. Again, perfect for schools where you have to transport artworks around a bit to get them from classroom to kiln etc.
