A paint-on liquid that seals your wares.

This is a liquid silicon dioxide or liquid quartz as some might call it. It works by filling in the porous holes in ceramic or stone creating a seal. Paint on with a fine brush and water will simply run off.
Ideally suited to bisque fired/unglazed wares or but absorbent glazed surfaces such as pit firings, raku, or fired underglazes (but not glazed over with transparent) etc. Uses could include outside or inside sculptural pieces and occasional use items.
It is non-toxic and non-hazardous. But we still advise caution when using this for dinnerware, as this has not been tested for cutlery marking, dishwasher/microwave use and as a long-term seal against chemicals inherent in an underlying glaze. Brushes can be washed with water if done so immediately.
Do not use near a naked flame and use in a well ventilated area.
In keeping with our overall general advice, we suggest wearing full PPE when handling raw materials. This includes a mask, safety
glasses, and gloves.
It is a sensible precaution for children not to work with raw materials.
