Molochite is a white aggregate that can be put into porcelain and white firing bodies and casting slips to reduce shrinkage and protect against thermal shock. Its low iron content will maintain the whiteness of a fired body. The mesh size of 120 sits perfectly in the middle of the range of sizes usually available, 8 -325.

Health & Safety

According to the SDS, molochite does not present any hazard however we do suggest eye protection from stray particles. Keep working areas free of dust by cleaning up with a damp
sponge.

In keeping with our overall general advice, we suggest wearing full PPE when handling raw materials. This includes a mask, safety
glasses, and gloves. We also suggest working in a well ventilated area.

It is a sensible precaution for children not to work with raw materials.
