Product Information

Size: 500ml

A common use for wax is for the base of your ware, it will repel the glaze and burn off in the kiln leaving the base clean.

Apply by brush or sponge allowing to dry before glazing. You can use wax as a resist masking designs on your pottery.

See alternative product, latex resist.

Health & Safety

It is sensible not to over use wax.

The wax contains in some small part, paraffin. When burning in the kiln it will produce unhealthy fumes that should not be inhaled.

Wear gloves and eye protection when applying, as it can be an irritant to the skin.

It is a sensible precaution for children not to work with raw materials.

See the SDS in the product attachments for more information.

Wax resist

Works very well for our double dips where we paint a design over freshly glazed surface and immediately dip in another glaze. Timing requires we do the second dip well before the resist dries but it seemed to work rather better than I expected.

So easy to apply and paint with

As well as being indispensable for applying to bases of glazed pots, this is great for hand-painting detailed patterns onto underglazed work prior to adding a glaze layer over the top.
